BVD is strengthening its commitment to strategy and brand development by appointing Mattias Börjesson as CEO. Mattias has been at BVD since 2006 as a project manager and brand strategist. He has previous
experience on the customer side, where he worked for, among others, H&M and Oriflame Cosmetics. “It’s exciting to be
a part of and lead a design firm with a strong professional culture like BVD’s and that stands on such a stabile platform,” says Mattias. Some of Sweden’s strongest brands, such as IKEA, Absolut Vodka, H&M, Pressbyrån, Blossa and Filippa K, have been customers of BVD for a long
time. “Now we will place even more focus on the value-creating function of design, and become even better at understanding the motivations and needs of our cus-tomers’ customers, which is in itself a prerequisite for really good design.” The position of CEO was given to Mattias at the end of January. The departing CEO,
Christina Bohlin Malmnäs, will continue at BVD as a
specialist with a focus on communication and new
business. “We look forward to the next phase in BVD’s development. The firm is growing, and we need to build
up an organization that gives us even more air under our wings,” says Chistina Bohlin Malmnäs, who after 8 years
as CEO is now stepping down. Catrin Vagnemark, Creative
Director at BVD says, “With Mattias in the lead, BVD will further strengthen its position as a strategic design firm and conversation partner, which we are very happy about.”
BVD was founded in 1997 by Catrin Vagnemark and
Carin Blidholm Svensson. The company is now owned
by the founders along with Christina Bohlin Malmnäs
and Susanna Nygren Barrett.
